Two fundamental principles guide Project ABLE:
Individuals with mental health issues can, and do recover. A recovery approach focuses on enriching the overall life experience of every individual. Project ABLE engages, informs, and empowers individuals to build a life defined by their own goals and passions, and not confined by a diagnosis.
Peer to peer connections are powerful. At Project ABLE, individuals are matched with peers who have personal experience with recovery. Through shared life experience, peer supporters can connect with the individuals at a level not otherwise achievable in a traditional patient-provider relationship.
